From Madrid to Venezuela: Sweet Space's charity initiative that is mobilizing the capital

At Sweet Space, art, learning, and creativity have always been our cornerstones, but today we’re driven by something much deeper: our roots. The founders and most of the team that brings this immersive museum in Madrid to life were born in Venezuela 🇻🇪.

Given the serious humanitarian emergency the country is facing in the wake of the recent earthquakes, we couldn’t just sit idly by. Last weekend, we decided to turn our space at ABC Serrano into a gathering place for solidarity and volunteer work.

The Museum Turned into a Collection Center: A Historic Response in Downtown Madrid

When the community comes together, the impact is unstoppable. What began as an urgent call for help turned into one of the most moving events our space has ever experienced, establishing itself as one of the most well-attended humanitarian aid collection points in the capital:

  • More than 30 volunteers: Citizens and team members who tirelessly dedicated their time to receiving, sorting, and packing donations.

  • More than 23,000 items collected: Nonperishable food, medical supplies, and essential goods.

Volunteers United for Venezuela in Madrid

All of these massive collections were successfully transferred to the main consolidation point in Sambil Madrid, to be shipped via the NGO Toneladas de Alegría and the Bandazul Foundation, ensuring that aid for Venezuela reaches the hardest-hit areas directly.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who visited our exhibition in Madrid. Every donation counts.

💬 A message from our team:

Sweet Space was founded with the idea of creating magical worlds, but today our priority is to support the real world that gave us life.

Seeing Madrid rally in this way to send aid to Venezuela in the wake of the earthquakes shows us that solidarity knows no borders. This is just the beginning of our commitment.

The worst is yet to come: Upcoming aid campaigns for Venezuela

As a committed organization, we know that emergency aid is vital in the first few days, but the real reconstruction efforts and the most critical needs will persist and even become more acute in the medium term. The worst part is not the immediate impact, but the situation that will unfold in a few months.

For this reason, the participation of Madrid’s museums and local organizations must be sustained. In the coming weeks, we will announce new phases of the relief campaign, coordinating efforts so that the Madrid community can continue to participate actively.
